Description

Tangy Sweet-and-Sour Meatballs!
Juicy, flavorful meatballs in a perfect blend of sweet and tangy sauce—an instant crowd-pleaser!

Ingredients

1-1/2 pounds ground beef
1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
1/3 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup milk
1 egg, beaten
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 can (20 ounces) pineapple chunks
1/3 cup white vinegar
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 medium green pepper, chopped
1 medium red pepper, chopped

Instructions

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, onion, milk, egg, salt, and pepper. Shape into 1-inch meatballs.
In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Brown the meatballs in batches; drain.
Drain pineapple, reserving juice; set pineapple aside. Add enough water to juice to measure 1 cup.
In a small bowl, combine the vinegar, brown sugar, soy sauce, and cornstarch. Stir into juice mixture until smooth.
Add the sauce to the skillet; bring to a boil. Cook and stir until thickened, about 2 minutes. Add the meatballs, pineapple, and peppers. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, until meatballs are no longer pink and peppers are tender, 10-15 minutes.
